Technical Support - Common Issues: Fast + Simple Solutions.

How can I register a new account using the same email address as my spouse?

IMPORTANT:  Each student account must be registered using a unique email address. In order to avoid the need for any discreet personal data such as drivers license number or social security number Defensive Driver Academy uses your email address as the key database identifier. This means that multiple students in the same household cannot register for the course using the same email address.

If you do not have an email address of your own and you want to register for the course, this is not a problem! The links below lead directly to the new email account creation forms for both Yahoo and Google. You can create a new email address for FREE on Yahoo or Google in less than a minute. It is super easy and fast. Even if you never use the email address again for anything it will function perfectly for registering an account for your defensive driver course.

To get your own Yahoo mail account now -  please click  HERE

To get your own Google mail account - just click HERE

Please keep in mind that using a fake or made up email address to register a new course will not cause any technical faults with the course but will result in no emails from our system being received. The course and completion certificate will however function normally regardless of whether you receive the email notices or not.

When I have completed the registration page and click "Place Order" nothing happens OR the page just scrolls back to the top? What do I do next? How do I get to my course?

FIRST:  Review all of your entries on the registration form to check for any errors. The registration form will show error messages just above the first data entry field. Double check to make sure that you are completing all of the required registration form fields AND that you have clicked the small check box at the bottom to indicate that you have read and agree to the full site and course terms and conditions. When you are sure all of your entries are correct - click to Place Order again.

NEXT:  Sometimes, due to individual browser settings and pop-up ad blockers, the course registration form can fail to automatically log you into your new account and forward you to the student account dashboard even though your student account has been successfully created.

If you complete and submit the registration form / checkout page and the site does not automatically take you to the student account dashboard, please try this:

Click on the "Account Login" link in the top right of the site header blue navigation bar. This will take you to the student account login page where you can enter your email address as the login ID and the password you specified on the registration / checkout page and login to your account. This will take you to your student account dashboard where you can click "My Course" to get started on your course.

CLICK BELOW TO WATCH A SHORT VIDEO ON CORRECTING THIS ISSUE:

How do I get back to my course? I did not complete my course when I first registered and now I need to return to the course to finish it but I do not know how to get back to where I left off?

FIRST --  The key point with this issue is to understand that once you have created a student account for one user you do not ever need to create another account for that user. So if you have already signed-up for a course you cannot sign up for the same course again. Instead, all you need to do is log into the account you already have!

Return to the course page where you registered and then click the "My Account" link in the blue navigation bar at the top right of the site header. When the account login page is shown, enter your email address as the login ID and your password plus complete the security question answer and click Submit. This will return you to your account dashboard where you can click the My Course link and then click through to the listing of course units. Simply click on the last course unit noted that does not have a green check mark on the right side indicating the completed units.

Remember:  You do NOT need to register for the course again. If you have already created a course account then all you need to do is return to that account and pick back up on the course where you left off.

IF you are not sure what site to return too in order to log into your account, refer back to the email your insurance agent sent you with their agency course link.

If you are not clear on how the course works or you have additional questions about how to proceed the course please watch the full course demo video further down this page.

THE VIDEO LINKED BELOW PROVIDES A DETAILED REVIEW OF HOW TO RETURN TO YOUR COURSE:

How do I register another account? My spouse also needs to the take the course but now after I am finished we cannot find a way to register another account?

You may have arrived at your insurance agents course page but found it impossible to register a new course because there are no red "Sign-Up" buttons on the course home page and when you click "My Account" in the site header it does not lead to a new course registration page but rather the student dashboard for another account.

Sometimes, particularly in cases such as spouses both taking the course and sharing the same computer or device to use for the course, the web browser being used is likely to automatically log you into the account that was last accessed or used at the site using the same device.

IMPORTANT:  All you need to do in order to restore new registration functions to the site is logout of the existing student account. To do this - Go to the student dashboard and click the "Logout" link. Once this is done, new registrations will work as normal.

NEED TO TAKE THE COURSE AGAIN TO KEEP YOUR INSURANCE DISCOUNT? SEE BELOW!

The insurance discount associated with completing the defensive driver course typically lasts for 3 years. After 3 years, the discount will drop off of your insurance policy unless you take a new, fresh course!

We have made this super easy! All you need to do is follow the super simple steps below:

  1. Return to your insurance agents course page. Your agent will usually send you the link to the correct site via email. If you do need assistance locating the correct site just shoot an email to:   support@defensivedriveracademy.com
  2. Login to your previously created account where you took the course before. DO NOT try to register a new account!
  3. You can reset your password by clicking the "Lost Password" link on the login screen.
  4. When you arrive at your student account dashboard - just click the "Reset My Course" button.

The video below provides a detailed demonstration of exactly how this process works.
